ARVIN in CALCUTTA

My grandson Arvin left for London last Monday night. My daughter Avantika accompanied him. He will be 1 year old in mid-October.
He spent nearly 4 and a half months in Calcutta: during the sweltering heat of summer. When he came he was unable to sit but when he left he was beginning to stand.
He used to keep my wife and I occupied most of the time with his playful pranks. My daughter used to do the rounds of Calcutta and the two of us used to keep him company, aided by Shyamali and an ayah.
We took him to Kolaghat about 70 kms away for a lunch at the Shere-Punjab dhaba where he attracted a lot of attention
.Now we are basking in his delightful memory!
